MISSION
With endeavors to engineer the instruction and inclusion environments for students with disabilities and align our vision with that of the DCPS Social Emotional Learning initiative, we work collaboratively with a number of related services agencies. Specialized instructional tools (i.e., IEP matrix, inclusion blueprint etc.) is utilized to make informed decisions that are both significant and equitable. With strategic management and organization, Project C.A.R.E. addresses staffing, scheduling and the implementation of inclusive and specialized instruction.
The Walker-Jones Education Campus mission is to provide each student a diverse education in a safe, supportive environment that promotes self-discipline, motivation, and excellence in learning. Our mission directly aligns with the four-year special education strategic plan adopted by the Office of Teaching and Learning. The premise of Project C.A.R.E. is to:
(1) increase academic achievement
(2) include more students
(3) involve families in their child’s success
(4) prepare students with disabilities for college or the workforce.
